I turned 33 this week, I wonder if it’ll make a difference
to my running/attitude...
This week I have been a deviant. I have deviated from the plan and on Monday I
did not do a recovery run. Instead I
went for a 24k bike ride with my friend Paul who beasted me. And as it turns out as you get fitter at
running the effect is not shared when you get on a bike. I find that a bit of a pain in the arse that
to be honest.
Interval night: I did
not want to run tonight. Yesterday was
my birthday and I had a really lovely lazy day being a bum (No drinking
though). But tonight I still wanted to
be a bit of a bum but I ran instead. I
thank you dearest blog reader for that because I knew if I didn’t run I would
have to justify my lazy backside to you and I didn’t want to do that either. Hurrah for peer pressure.
Anyway I ran up the big hill 5 times tonight just like I
promised, on the third time I actually gagged, so numbers 4 and 5 weren’t run
at such an aggressive pace. But my
recovery on the run back home was pretty good.
It seems to help trying to run as if you’re not knackered, does that
make any sense? I hope so.
Just got back from my long run. Ran 14.17k in 1 hour 11 minutes, so not quite
up to last week’s pace but it was a longer run and hotter. About 21 degrees C. I am really worried about the weather for the
GNR. IF it’s really hot I will really
struggle. At times on my run today I did
not want to continue, the hot weather just saps my energy. However the thought of having to explain
myself to you and whinging I was feeling
a bit hot felt a bit on the weak side. So
well done again dear reader you are continuing to bully me at all the right
times.
It won't be hot, it's oop north! But yes exercise in this heat is not fun! :-)
